Saturday, March 21st Friends, I've decided to change things up a little in a few ways. First, you will notice that I'm moving the most recent post to the top of the page, instead of at the bottom. I hope doing this will cut down on confusion about what to do when expectations change. Second, I have realized that we can't just be "business as usual, just online". I know many of you could make it work, but not everyone can. So please, please, please, please, don't even think about grades for now. Try to find the joy of learning in everything you do. Third, do what your parents/guardians tell you to do regarding schoolwork. If they want you to complete everything, then that is what you do. If they want you to do something else, then that is what you do. So with that in mind, I'm going to make a Han Dynasty quiz with the same questions as the Schoology version, and "assign" it on teachtci.com. Challenge yourself to do your best, use the text if you want to, ask for a retake if you want, just don't expect it to get counted in PowerSchool. Stay safe, my friends.
Students, please complete all of the assignments given on Friday, March 13th. Check back here for updates during our time away from the school building.
Monday, March 16th--I hope that everyone has a plan to spend some time this week working on History. I know that some people have already been working on their assignments today! You should complete the China Geography Challenge, vocabulary chart, and reading guide worksheet. I also assigned a TCI chapter on Han China. I will assign a vocabulary quiz and chapter quiz later this week, but right now I want to give you time to complete what I have already assigned. Happy studies, my friends!!
Thursday, March 19th--I know it's late (8pm) but I've been working on Schoology and TCI stuff most of the day, and I had trouble logging on to this site earlier(but now I have it figured out). I answered a lot of emails today, and found that some of the things I've tried did not work. The Han China quiz might be working now (I'm sure Jack and Jacob will let me know if it still isn't). And you probably have a lot of work on paper and no clue what to do with it. Don't use it for tinder! Don't recycle it! I will find a way for everyone to submit their written work so that everyone gets credit for work completed. I encourage everyone who hasn't started the TCI Han China chapter to please start tomorrow. I hope to see more completed notebooks by the end of the school day. You are all missed--distance learning is nowhere near as fun as our time together in class. Stay safe, and keep learning!
